HELENOR WASTEFUL

Appreciators of alternative songwriting gather round for Helenor’s left-field listen ‘Wasteful’. This swirly synth-folk number muses of the environmental anxiety that the Boston-based musician David DiAngelis - aka Helenor - experiences. Speaking about the zeitgeist track, DiAngelis states that: “This song is about throwing away food. :(  More so, ‘Wasteful’ is about not fully appreciating the people or things around you.” Constructed around loose, metallic strings and an enduring lo-fi production, ‘Wasteful’ sits somewhere between despair and urgency as DiAngelis sings about stress, plastic, mortality and, most of all, the frustration of feeling like one person against a world of people bent on self-destruction. No doubt, many listeners share his sentiments, and so let’s get together around the odd glow of this song and unite in our worries. - Hannah Thacker
